Hi ,
The background that I specifically have within the mortgage industry is an in-depth knowledge of real estate, from a developer, a builder, a landlord, a tenant and a homeowner perspective, commercial and residential. Many of my friends have been and are developers, builders, investors, brokers, lenders and title closers. I have lived the industry through all of these great people along with my own experiences. My intention is to get back into this industry in the next cycle. Is this the beginning of the next cycle?
My sales experiences are many. I am always finding the value-add for others and forming relationships. Thinking back I guess my 1st official sales job was selling ad space on ski lift towers. I was 16. COLD CALL all the way. The next that comes to mind was hitting the streets to raise 3 million dollars for a denim start-up company. SemiCold calls (biggest learning thus far). That was 2001, there were many more sales experiences in between those 2. Most recently I worked with SureClick, an online Marketing firm in DC. There I supported the biz development process and was integral in bringing on 3 national clients.
Currently, the number one skill that I am committed and determined to add to my tool belt is a mastery of sales. Sales is a word that has morphed, in my mind, from a profession of a sleezy car salesman to that of the biggest influencer’s – movers and shakers of the world. The greatest leaders, entrepreneurs and business people have to be able to sell or have someone on their team that can sell. Salespeople progress the world!
I am a voracious reader and sales and negotiation are two of my favorite subjects. On the book list you will see a few that I have read (not updated). I have been to multiple sales training courses and am continually practicing within different settings.
What else? Is the experience there? Is the desire there?
The second part of this intro is about the service side. In my daily creed, one of my declarations is to “do my best to serve as many people as possible.” I have learned to see the mortgage business as a incredible way to serve others. This is an underlying motivation as to entering this business as well.
I look forward to meeting you Friday. Let me know what else you would like to see from me. I have included assessments that I have taken over the last coupe of years. You will need a password to read. I currently do not have your contact info, but when we confirm our 10:30 casual meeting I will give it to you.
Thanks,
Zak
